Northern Areas Council

Jamestown is a regional service centre located in the state’s Mid North, approximately 200 kilometres north of Adelaide. The township has a population of around 1,500, agriculture is the primary economic driver, with cereal cropping, livestock grazing and associated agribusiness forming the backbone of the local economy.

Jamestown is serviced by a reticulated water supply and a Community Wastewater Management System (CWMS) designed and constructed by Factor UTB. Commissioned in 2011, the facility was developed to manage wastewater generated within the township, providing safe treatment, disposal, and irrigation reuse in accordance with the requirements of SA Health and the EPA.

Since delivery of the project, Factor UTB has maintained an ongoing relationship with the Northern Areas Council, providing additional operator training and system familiarisation as required. Factor UTB has also supported Council through direct maintenance and operational assistance during periods when local staffing resources were unavailable, ensuring continuity of service and compliance.
