Wastewater ProjectsAngle Vale sewage infrastructure scheme

Limited expansion of sewage and water infrastructure across metropolitan Adelaide has significantly constrained the delivery of new housing, particularly in the rapidly growing northern and southern suburbs. Factor UTB has delivered a privately funded sewage infrastructure scheme in Angle Vale which services multiple development sites. The scheme has been designed to service an ultimate capacity of approximately 4,500 residential allotments (~12,000 persons), equivalent to approximately 2.1ML/day. The scheme is fully designed, constructed, owned and operated by Factor UTB. This project represents a first of its kind in South Australia, being the inaugural delivery of critical sewage infrastructure by a private utility within the greater metropolitan Adelaide region, an area traditionally serviced by SA Water.
The end-to-end delivery of the scheme, from initial concept design through to detailed design, construction and commencement of operations will be achieved within a 13-month timeframe. This accelerated delivery schedule enables the timely servicing of residential land and supports the construction of more than 4,500 new dwellings. The scheme plays a critical role in unlocking housing supply in a high-growth corridor by providing immediate and reliable wastewater infrastructure, independent of delays to broader regional networks.
The ultra-high-quality water (6 LRV virus) discharge from the plant allows for unrestricted reuse including as construction water, irrigation of green spaces and support of local agriculture reducing reliance on other water sources including potable and groundwater allocation.
