Birdwood sewage treatment system

Factor UTB were engaged to deliver the design and construction of the Birdwood Sewage Treatment System, a package treatment plant established to service the local Hills community. The facility was designed for a peak treatment capacity of 100 kL/day, incorporating an activated sludge Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) as the biological treatment process. Downstream tertiary treatment processes comprised filtration and disinfection, ensuring high-quality effluent suitable for beneficial reuse.

The recycled water was applied via irrigation to a nearby plantation tree lot and further supported local agricultural operations, providing both environmental and community benefits through sustainable water management.
